This course is designed to work with students early in their college experience to help them identify potential career paths and avoid barriers that would prevent them from completing their educational goals. Included in this course are tools to connect students with support services designed to help overcome academic challenges. The instruction encourages the development of study skills to achieve classroom excellence and independent learning, including textbook mastery and lecture synthesis. Special emphasis includes study applications in critical thinking, academic and career planning, and engagement with college life. The Humanities and Social Sciences Division offers this course in order to assist students in achieving their academic goals.
