ART 252 - Studio Art Credit Hours: 3 Billable Contact Hours: 3 Prerequisites: ART 181 or ART 191 or ART 251 Session Cycle: FW
Studio Art is a non-transferable course for the student/artist who has completed all the art offerings in a given discipline but still wishes to utilize the studio space, facilities and instructor’s expertise to gain further knowledge. This will be done with the permission and under the supervision of an instructor. The student receives “P” or “F” rather than a letter grade for the course since it is not intended to transfer.

Learning Outcomes:
- Identify/Recognize the importance of individualized art concepts and self discipline
- Identify/Recognize the importance of critical analysis of finished works of art as they relate to technique, content, and form
- Identify/Recognize the importance of critiquing and evaluating finished art by peers and outsiders
- Demonstrate/Practice the ability to develop new ideas or interpretations through the use of experimental media techniques
- Demonstrate/Practice the ability to use self-discipline and to set time tables in an effort to complete goals set at the beginning of the course
- Demonstrate/Practice the ability to critically analyze his or her own work as it relates to technique, contend, and form structure
- Demonstrate/Practice the ability to accept the judgment of others and to use those suggestions he or she thinks will improve the quality of the completed work
- Believe/Feel/Think that he or she is able to create a work of art that is original in concept, has control of the medium and has good form organization
