Associate of Applied Science Degree
The associate of applied science degree with specialization as a system administration specialist is designed to train students in LAN, Windows Server networking, hardware maintenance, data communication concepts, various PC operating systems and administration fundamentals.
Program Outcomes
A. Use and configure essential office applications including word processing, spreadsheet, presentation and database software
B. Understand the evolution of technology and its basic concepts
C. Install, configure, use, troubleshoot and maintain microcomputer operating systems
D. Utilize basic programming skills
E. Use, install, configure, manage, troubleshoot and maintain a server operating system
F. Examine and apply the fundamental techniques of computer security
G. Identify and explain potential security issues
H. Demonstrate a basic understanding of networks and computer security in the business environment
I. Configure basic TCP/IP networking services on computers in the workplace
J. Plan for the future and design a solution based on user requirements
K. Explain business continuity, back up and disaster recovery
L. Understand troubleshooting and quality consumer support
