This course is designed as a non-mathematically-intensive introduction to Astronomy. Students will explore the appearance of the sky from the earth, the nature of light, telescopes, the formation, life and death of stars, the properties of galaxies -including our own Milky Way- the properties of the Universe as a whole and various cosmological principles, the properties and formation of our solar system, how life evolved on earth and the possibility of intelligent life in the Universe. Some day/evening outside observing may be required.
