EMS 153 - Emergency Medical Technician III

This is the third in a series of four courses that will constitute a certificate as an Emergency Medical Technician, making the student eligible for National Registry Testing and eventual state licensure. In this class, students will be presented with the medical scenarios commonly encountered in the pre-hospital setting. Students will field diagnose and treat illnesses related to respiratory problems, cardiac emergencies, and diabetes among others. Students will also begin clinical rotations where they will put their skills into practice in both the hospital and on an ambulance. Students must complete lecture and laboratory tasks in all four courses and complete the clinical rotations in the third and fourth classes to be eligible for the national examination.
